My journey on self love. So I started this blog as I have been reflecting on life and what is important to me. In the past few years a lot has happened which taught me quite a few things, one of them being self love and how important it is.  For the longest of time I’ve struggled with self esteem/confidence and accepting myself and that made it so hard to fully give myself the love I’ve been longing for.  I Thando S’bongile Nkabinde am on a journey of self love.  This journey of self love includes trusting, forgiving, healing, taking your power back and fully giving yourself some LOVE. It’s definitely not an easy journey because a lot will happen such as losing relationships with people-family, friends, partners, jobs/careers, money etc…. and it requires you to have a lot of strength.  The first part I will focus on is forgiving myself. We constantly apologize to people that we forget to apologize to ourselves. Forgiving yourself is as much important as loving yourself and it helps with the process on healing.  So here’s to forgiving myself: I forgive myself for allowing other people’s opinions about me matter- I bought into the idea that what they thought of me defines me, IT DOESN’T!! I forgive myself for all the wounds (physically and emotionally) I’ve created in my own life. I forgive myself for allowing people to belittle me, attack me, bully me, insult me,  take me for granted and allowing them to hurt me. I forgive myself for ever believing that I needed to be perfect in any way.  I mean perfection is not a human quality after all. I forgive myself for believing that size and the colour of your skin matters. I forgive myself for seeking validation from people.  I forgive myself for allowing fear to take power over my life. And I also forgive myself for believing that the only love I will get is from the outside of myself. The only reason I’m forgiving myself is because I’m deserving of peace.
